I have been teaching in China for the last 15 years in various schools offering Australian, Canadian, and IB curricula. I taught Math courses as well as Physics, General Science, and Chemistry to mostly high school students.

Aside from teaching, I love to be involved in school activities which involve nurturing students' skills and behaviors to become better global citizens. I got certified as National Geographic Educator in 2020. I have tutored Grade 10 students to compete for University of Waterloo 2015 Galois competition and they topped 4 beating other international schools in China and other countries. I encourage my students to join Math competitions as well as Science competitions.

I always want my students to love Math and tell them that Math is FUN. A LOT OF students build math anxiety growing up. BUT WITH MY CLASS, THEY WILL SEE THAT it is not a subject to be feared. I want my students to see the value of Math in different aspects which makes it valuable and beautiful. My name is Ms. Bridget. I am a homeschooling mom to four wonderful children. I have been homeschooling them since my oldest started Kindergarten, almost eight years ago. I love being with my family and homeschooling my children. I am a Christian. My faith is very important to me. My favorite part of the day is our family Bible Study. We read and memorize Scriptures together. I also enjoy math. I love working with numbers and seeing the order and patterns in math, especially mental math strategies. I love teaching and helping children learn and grow in all areas of life. I think learning should be a positive experience. I believe that all children have gifts and talents unique to them. I am passionate about helping children to discover what they are good at and helping them to grow in areas of weakness. I love seeing the confidence children gain as they realize what they know and how capable they are. My hope for the classes that I teach, is that students will enjoy learning and using the mental math strategies taught and that they will leave class with a practical new skill that they can immediately put into practice to solve math problems. I am a CA Licensed teacher and have been a teacher in brick and mortar for more than 3 decades. I have taught online for more than 5 years- ESL, MATH and SCIENCE. I have earned my Master’s Degree in Business Administration major in Finance, earned my Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education major in English, earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, AB Communication Management and Biology. I have taught Math/ Science/ ESL to learners in the USA, Canada, Australia, UK and Asia. I also taught ESL to both young learners and adults in China, Korea and Japan. I also know American Sign Language and have also taught beginners piano lessons as well. Math and Science are my passion.I follow the CA standard Curriculum/ Core Concept/ Kumon for Math and the Next Generation Science Standards for Science. I currently offer a full curriculum, semestral classes, multi-day and ongoing classes in Math for Kindergarten to Algebra and Science for First Grade to Third Grade. I also offer private one on one Math tutorials. I started to have fun teaching when I was an elementary student myself by playing school with my neighbors and sibling in the basement. That has transcended over twenty years later and into decades of having fun in my career both in-person and online as an educator. It's important that students believe that they can learn and have fun while learning. Having a teacher who provides step-by step directions to help students understand the material being taught is key to helping students become successful in their own learning. Finding help for your child when they are struggling academically or when they want to excel in their studies can be a daunting task. I believe in being able to address students needs by acknowledging their unique differences. I love to work from their interests and incorporate them into my lessons. As a child I was never particularly the best in math, but as a teacher having struggled with this subject as a child has helped in in being able to understand a child that struggles. I am able to see misconceptions as they happen and I can correct them.

I have a Masters of Education and am a licensed math and English teacher. **I have been teaching online for five years!** I love the exploration of math and plan to explore it in all of my classes.

My term long classes (broken into two terms affordability) will include plenty of exploration but will also be courses that will allow students to understand and practice concepts. As far as core classes go I teach middle school math (6th, 7th, and 8th/pre-algebra), Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra 2, Precalculus. I have taught these in a brick and mortar school in the USA and international schools in Thailand and China.

I have taught ages 11 to 18 in a traditional classroom.
