Meet Our Teachers!

  • I am a fully qualified teacher with over 8 years private tutoring experience, over which I have taught, helped and inspired hundreds of students across thousands of hours of lesson time. I have taught both A-levels and GCSEs as well as the IB (International Baccalaureate) and younger year groups, including KS2, KS3, 13+ and 11+, and common entrance exam preparation. I have experience teaching the following exam boards: AQA, Edexcel, CIE, OCR and WJEC. I have worked as an AQA examiner, giving me first-hand experience with the exam technique required to get high marks in exams. I have had a very large and diverse range of clients, including various SEN students. I have also tutored university students in Geography and have guided them through essay and dissertation submissions and exams. I have been working as a Geography teacher in independent as well as state schools in and around London over the past four academic years, teaching GCSEs and A-Levels as well as KS3. Finally, I have tutored Geography on an international level in South Korea, and in Kenya for a private placement. Especially applicable to Geography, my lessons have a strong focus on exam technique, including essay structure and language; and effective exam preparation.

  • Hello and Welcome! I am an author, teacher, speaker and life coach who teaches people of all ages communication skills. My expertise is in emotional development and expression. As children we are not taught about emotions, empathy nor how to listen. We grow up without intelligence emotionally often reaching out to professional psychologists with life problems to solve when we are adults. My courses teach the normalcy of emotions with educating students what they are, how we experience them and how to communicate. This core process translates to increased imagination and creativity. We are all artists and writers and have creativity inside of us. This does not threaten the left brain rationalism our educational systems are structured around, it actually compliments it. There is a cutting edge advantage to social skills and creativity entering into the 21st century as our jobs will be increasingly automated with artificial intelligence. I bring my experience with children and teens where I did artwork, and played all kinds of games with them as we talked about emotions, problems and solutions. With the teens, I would shoot hoops outside with basketball, write and play card games. With the younger children, I would play board games and draw. What mattered was helping them express themselves. Parents would learn to trust my process, as when the kid would identify the parent as the 'monster' in the drawing, I would understand their communication. Sometimes as adults we can be scary to kids with our emotions and they do not understand the normalcy of anger and fear. I help kids of all ages understand we all experience anger, fear, sadness, joy, confusion, disgust and more as part of life. There is nothing wrong with us. By tapping into our inward thoughts and emotions, I help students express themselves more freely with increased confidence and self esteem. This model of PERMA from Positive Psychology has been practiced with school children in Australia with Dr. Martin Seligman, and they saw their overall achievement scores improve just because they focused on well-being and emotional expression. It is nice to meet you!

  • Is your teenager spending a lot of hours in front of the computer/on their phone? Do you seem to have more arguments than conversations with your teen?
    You are not alone!
Teens are overwhelmed by all the stimulus from the internet and rely heavily on LIKES from social media to make them feel like they matter. A slippery slope when our future leaders give away their power to external sources to make them feel better. Your teen is incredibly capable and resourceful BUT they will have to learn emotional intelligence to become confident in their own abilities.
When I was 14 years old I was given a monthly bus pass to get school. I had taken the bus a couple of times yet always felt nervousness around possibly missing the bus. One day approaching the bus stop I noticed the bus was early! Feeling frantic, I stared to run...the bus left without me!!! I hated feeling so dependant on the bus. Deciding to walk to school I was surprised to realize had I arrived before the bus!
What a feeling of empowerment. Not only did I get to school by myself, I was also on time!
That night I proudly shared what had happened with my dad and asked him if I could have the bus money and walk to school instead. My confidence grew AND I was able to buy my favourite pair of shoes!
That day my feelings taught me how important it was to be autonomous. I learned that taking action felt way more empowering than blaming the bus driver for being early.
If you would like your teens to take guidance from their emotions to become empowered, responsible adults then I highly recommend this series of classes. Register today!
