Handwriting Club: Fun Handwriting Games to Learn Capital Letters

Description

Does handwriting practice feel like a battle for your learner? This class will make handwriting fun and interactive! During this class, 2-3 capital letters will be presented each lesson. Students will practice identifying and writing each letter through fun and interactive games with frequent movement and sensory breaks. Every few weeks there will be a review game to ensure learner retention. This course follows the Handwriting Without Tears sequence of learning letters to ensure learners create good handwriting habits and to help prevent letter reversals.

Meet Course teacher

Hi! My name is Mrs. Rachel, and I can not wait to meet you and your family! I teach a variety of life skills, crafting, social skills, psychology, science, and anatomy classes. I believe that children learn best in an interactive group setting, and I use a variety of creative techniques to ensure each class allows your learner to engage with the class material in a hands on manner.

I am a pediatric occupational therapist working with children with developmental or acquired disabilities ages 4 months to 21 years in north Texas. I have a master's degree in occupational therapy from Texas Woman's University and a bachelor's degree in psychology from Texas A&M University (Gig 'Em!). As an occupational therapist, I provide skilled treatment to help a child or teen progress his or her life skills to meet individualized goals. Treatment sessions could be anything from working on using both hands and scissor skills by making a pumpkin craft, to following directions by cooking macaroni and cheese, to developing social and counting skills by playing a board game. I specialize in making life skills fun, and a few of my patients call me “the fun doctor” (our clinic looks like a doctor’s office) because they enjoy therapy so much.

I am passionate about making learning fun, and I have taught a variety of classes: handwriting, aquatic science, head start, crafting, and life skills to name a few. I am here to best serve your student's learning needs, so my lessons will include hands on activities in addition to visual and auditory information. If your learner has special learning needs, please contact me in advance and I will be happy to accommodate! If you have any questions regarding my classes, please feel free to contact me. I look forward to seeing you in class!
