The cave is for all students who have completed the Creative Writing class. We will meet weekly, writing with prompts given by the teacher. For example, for 10 minutes we will write freehand about butterflies. What are they, what do they look like, where do they live and sleep, how do they behave, when do they flutter around, why are they important. This is not based on reality. We will let our imaginations go wild creating a new reality for the butterflies we write about. Each topic will introduce a no rules atmosphere meaning there is no right or wrong with creativity and imagination. Writing long hand is encouraged, yet not required. When we run out of things to write about, we will practice gratitude exercises learned in the Creative Writing class. The teacher will give a quick tutorial at the beginning of each class with exercises to practice. This will nudge our brain to a positive state, helping us find that flow to continue writing creatively from our intuition. We will pause, practice gratitude, asking our inward voice, 'what do you have for me?' We will then listen meditatively. If there is nothing, we will continue to practice gratitude writing a list of things we are grateful for until the time for the writing prompt is over, (about 10 minutes each prompt.)
