Description

This Pre-Algebra / Algebra class is to serve as a bridge between elementary mathematics and Algebra. This course will build a foundation of algebraic concepts through the use of technology, manipulatives, problem solving, and cooperative learning. Each week, the learner will gain proficiency in new math concepts. Each week is a stand-alone class and is not a pre-requisite to taking the other class. The learner can join in any week and quickly be able to participate and get up to speed.

Week 4- Equations and Formulas
Week 5- Inequalities and Solving Inequalities
Week 6- Exponents
Week 7- Simplifying ( Expanding)
Week 8 - Multiplying Negatives
Week 9- Associative, Commutative and Distributive Laws
Week 10- Cross Multiplication
Week 11- Solving Proportions Algebraic Expressions
Week 12- Directly Proportional
Week 13- Inversely Proportional
Week 14- Addition and Subtraction of Fractions in Algebra
Week 15- Multiplication and Division of Fractions in Algebra
Week 16 - Factoring
Week 17- Factoring Linear Expressions
Week 18- Adding Polynomials
Week 19- Subtracting Polynomials
Week 20 - Logarithms

I am a CA Licensed teacher and have been a teacher in brick and mortar for more than 3 decades. I have taught online for more than 5 years- ESL, MATH and SCIENCE. I have earned my Master’s Degree in Business Administration major in Finance, earned my Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education major in English, earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, AB Communication Management and Biology. I have taught Math/ Science/ ESL to learners in the USA, Canada, Australia, UK and Asia. I also taught ESL to both young learners and adults in China, Korea and Japan. I also know American Sign Language and have also taught beginners piano lessons as well. Math and Science are my passion.I follow the CA standard Curriculum/ Core Concept/ Kumon for Math and the Next Generation Science Standards for Science. I currently offer a full curriculum, semestral classes, multi-day and ongoing classes in Math for Kindergarten to Algebra and Science for First Grade to Third Grade. I also offer private one on one Math tutorials. I believe that "Effective teaching is important because teaching is based on helping children progress from one level to another in a more sociable interactive environment and to get the approach right to get students to be independent learners."
