Introduction to Olympiad Maths
This course will be focused on introducing students to the fun world of Olympiad math. We would be looking at some interesting math concepts and applying our creativity abilities into solving math problems. Do not worry that it is a boring subject; unlike school subjects, it is actually very interesting! We would also go through some competitions available to students for them to test their strength. We might do some competition papers as well to let students familiarise with the format.

If you are looking for a little more advanced level of chess classes instead, do let me know privately!

If you are interested, please approach me to set a specific class time.

Hi! I'm Soon Wei, and I'd like to offer online tutoring for Olympiad maths, chess, Physics and Chemistry.

I have been offering private tutoring for a few months to date. My student ranges from 7-year-olds to university undergraduates, with the majority being secondary school students. I am also fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese, and I am familiar with using multiple languages to the advantage in class deliveries. I am also adept in teaching for different syllabi, including the IGCSE, IB, AP, A-Levels, VCE syllabus just to name a few. In my teaching, I strive to use my creativity in classes by showing students the possible different approaches to a single problem or technique, so that the student may understand it in a unique way they are comfortable with. This has proven successful to me when dealing with students with diverse backgrounds and learning capabilities.

As for my background, I have an excellent academic record, including a first-class honours CGPA at The University of Hong Kong under the Quantitative Finance major, as well as a first-class at The University of Melbourne under Actuarial Science, both being a grateful recipient of a great scholarship. I have also completed my pre-university studies with a 4A* grade under the Edexcel A-Levels for the subjects Maths, Further Maths, Physics, Chemistry.

As for my extra-curricular certificates, I have been training my Olympiad mathematics and chess skills for over a decade and was privileged to win several international awards as a country representative, such as the Hong Kong International Chess Open, Commonwealth Chess Championship, Australian Mathematical Competition and more. I also have basic competence in computer programming, with one of my highlights being the National Finalist for the International Blockchain Olympiad.
