Students will be introduced to the formula for the area of a circle. This formula can be a bit daunting, therefore we will analyze each part of it carefully. In this part of the lesson, we will review exponents and how to calculate them and we will review the value of pi. We will also review the difference between a radius and a diameter. Once students have understood the formula we will move on to applying it to find the area of a circle. Students will apply the formula to show comprehension. As a closing, students will apply what they have learned to word problems involving the area of a circle. Students will leave the class with notes to use in the future.

Finding help for your child when they are struggling academically or when they want to excel in their studies can be a daunting task. I believe in being able to address students needs by acknowledging their unique differences. I love to work from their interests and incorporate them into my lessons. As a child I was never particularly the best in math, but as a teacher having struggled with this subject as a child has helped in in being able to understand a child that struggles. I am able to see misconceptions as they happen and I can correct them.
