Art Class - Little Creative Learners
Let the little ones explore art in new and interesting ways through mixed media art creation.
This is a very beginning art class. We will focus primarily on engaging with each other, exploring with the materials, and exercising our creativity through guided mixed media art projects.

Art concepts students will be exposed to:
Color theory
Foreground, middle ground, and background
Layering and collage
Art elements (line, shape, form, etc.)
Art principles (rhythm, balance, contrast, etc.)

Skills students will work on:
Cutting with scissors

And thoughtful art creation!

*Some parental assistance required depending on age and maturity of student(s). I understand this age group can often have short attention spans. It's ok if they wander off during class.

At the end of class, I will give students an opportunity to share their finished piece with me and the class.

Hi there!

I am currently a homeschooling, blogging, graphic designing, fun-loving mom of 4 with lots of teaching experience. I am a Jane of all trades with a passion for writing, art and art history, science, and web design. Prior to my homeschool career, I followed many different career paths that helped me to gain valuable experience in many different fields. I was an accountant, human resources manager, market manager, social media marketing guru, and copy editor. I have a degree in Graphic Design, Economics, and Agricultural Business and Environmental Science. I guess you might say I just love learning!

Now I own my own web design studio, Little Daisy Media, and have the great honor of homeschooling 3 of my kids (my oldest is an adult and has graduated college). I love fostering a love of learning in my kids, helping them to find their passions. Along with teaching my own kiddos, I teach Art in the Park monthly for my local homeschool group as well as teach a variety of classes every semester at my homeschool co-op.

I truly believe that learning should be fun first because if we enjoy learning, we will always find opportunities to do it. I encourage creative freedom so kids' work will be relevant to their lives, and they will connect with what they are learning.

When I am not teaching, I blog about my family's homeschooling journey on I also enjoy reading, sewing, quilting, crocheting, baking, cooking, binge-watching TV shows, and being silly. See? Jane of all trades.

I hope to see you in class! Let's have some fun learning together.

Steph on Jun 08 about Art with the Masters

Karmen has taught my daughter patiently about each artist’s background and make sure there are interesting facts for my daughter to remember. Then she moved forward with creating art that relates to the artists. This is a fun crash course for kids to learn about famous artists, their style, and their work quickly. She also uses a variety of art techniques which expose kids to the art world! Highly recommend!
